The Annual Open Art Exhibition hosted by Penicuik Community Arts Association attracts entries by both amateur and professional artists from Penicuik, Midlothian, and beyond. The work is of a very high standard and includes paintings, sculpture, and crafts.

Every year one artist is awarded the ‘Penicuik Turner Prize’ by a visiting judge. The trophy is called the Penicuik Turner Prize after Andrew Turner Blacksmiths, where it was designed by Jane Turner and sculptured by their very own Charlie Brodowski.
