Andrew Turner Blacksmiths was founded in 1960 by Andrew Turner, father of the current owner Gordon. When opened over 50 years ago the company specialised in shoeing horses and repairing agricultural equipment. Over time Andrew developed and expanded the company by starting to work with housing associations and local councils on regeneration projects, whilst also establishing a substantial private client base – many of whom still work with us.

Gordon and his employees have worked very hard over the years to ensure that they retain Andrew’s family values and traditions. These traditions have kept the business involved in many local community projects, including the Penicuik Annual Arts Awards – where our custom-made trophy is presented as “Penicuik’s Turner Prize”.

Now over half a century later Andrew Turner LLP have an unrivaled reputation, not just in Edinburgh and the Lothians but all over Scotland, for providing customers with custom-made metal workpieces that range from gates and railings to bespoke ironwork.
